Cooling is a surface-area problem. A processor held at full load for an hour is producing heat continuously, and what decides whether the temperature settles or climbs is how much radiator there is to shed it into — three 120mm positions rather than two is roughly half as much again. The fans can then turn slowly to move that air, which is where the quiet comes from. The LCD on the pump shows you what all of it is doing.

What It Pairs With
A processor at the top of its range doing sustained work — rendering, compiling, encoding, long sessions rather than short bursts — and a case with a genuine 360mm mounting position. Front-mounting keeps the liquid cooler than a top mount does, though a top mount tidies the tubing; either works, and the choice usually comes down to what else is in the case. The lighting will join a scheme run from the same application.
Who This Isn’t For
A case without a 360mm mounting position — this is the single thing people get wrong, and the radiator does not become smaller once it has been paid for. A machine that only games in short evening sessions also never reaches the sustained load this is sized around, so the headroom sits idle. Common Questions
Will a 360mm radiator fit my case?
Only if the case lists a 360mm position, and even then a top mount can foul tall memory or the board’s heatsinks once the fans are attached. Send us the case, the board and the memory and we will check the stack rather than the specification sheet.
Front mount or top mount?
Front draws cooler outside air across the radiator, so the liquid runs a little cooler and the case gets warmer air. Top mount exhausts straight out and looks tidier. On most builds the difference is small enough that layout should decide it.
What can the LCD show?
Temperatures, usage figures, or an image or animation of your own. It runs from the same application as the lighting, so it is one piece of software rather than two.
