What It Pairs With
A case with a window is the first requirement, since that is what the lighting is for. A Core Ultra build on Z890 will take the full 6400 from the XMP profile without argument. The lighting is addressable through the standard header, so whichever software already runs your fans and cooler will almost certainly drive these too rather than adding another utility to the tray. Two sticks in the second and fourth slots, and check the height against a tall air cooler.
Who This Isn’t For
Behind a solid side panel half of what this kit is goes unused, and the money is better placed somewhere the machine will actually spend it. On an AM5 build left at stock settings, 6400 sits above where the memory controller is comfortable, so you would be running below the rating you paid for. And if a large tower air cooler is already chosen, the height of a lit module over the first slot is a real fitting problem rather than a detail to sort out later.

Do I need XPG software for the lighting?
Usually not. The modules follow the standard addressable scheme, so ASUS, MSI and GIGABYTE board software generally picks them up. Tell us what board you have and we will confirm before you end up with a second utility running.
Will I get 6400 on a Ryzen build?

Can the lighting be turned off?
Yes, completely, in software, and the memory works exactly the same either way. Some people run it dark day to day and bright when the machine is being shown off.
